My name is Tracy Stephens, and I am a recovered drug addict. Six years ago, I was injured in a car accident, and that is what started my pain pill habit. I progressed to stronger and stronger medications until I resorted to street heroin. Three years ago, I was a full-blown heroin addict. It wasn’t until my boyfriend at the time left me, my parents stopped talking to me altogether, and I realized I had lost all of my friends that I admitted that I needed help.
I went to rehab, and it changed my life. I learned so much about myself, I made some great friends, and I learned what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to become an addiction specialist so I could help other people the way I had been helped.
Now I work as a counselor in a methadone clinic, and I have been clean and sober for three years. I wanted to start this blog about my recovery journey so that I could inspire others who are in the throws of addiction.
If you are suffering from drug and/or alcohol addiction, I hope you will stick around and read some of my blog posts. And I hope you will always know that there is hope and that you, too, can change your life.
